What is BrowserBoss?
The BrowserBoss Web Browser for RIM Wireless Handhelds is a thin client wireless browser that enables you, the mobile user, to access multiple web sites wirelessly and search for information on the go.

What is a "Trial Account"?
In an effort to demonstrate the usefulness of BrowserBoss services, prospective subscribers may receive a complimentary, obligation free, two week trial. The trial will expire automatically, so be sure to subscribe to ensure uninterrupted service.

Do I need MDS if I have a Nextel 6510 or 7510?
No, Nextel provides a direct TCP/IP connection from your device. Just install BrowserBoss to surf the web!

How am I billed?
Once you become a subscriber, your credit information is processed securely, and automatically billed  to your account. Group/Corporate accounts may receive invoice options.

What if I want to Cancel?
BrowserBoss trial accounts will expire automatically after the two week trial. If you wish to cancel before that time, you have the option to cancel immediatlely from your member page. BrowserBoss will email confirmation that the account has been canceled.

Why does the Application Loader say "No additional applications designed for your handheld were found"?
You must load the handheld files to your local computer as described in part 3 of the System Requirements listed here or upgrade to BlackBerry Desktop Software 3.6 SP1.

Why do I get an "IPPP" error when trying to use BrowserBoss?
Your device is not configured on the Mobile Data Service (MDS) component of the BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES). Please contact your system administrator to add your device. If you don't have BES/MDS or are running an Internet version of BlackBerry you can try using a WAP Gateway.

Can I use a WAP Gateway?
Some carriers provide a WAP Gateway for connections.

What are the System Requirements?
1.
The handheld must be running RIM OS 3.6 or higher. To check the version select the 'Options' program from the application ribbon and select About. If the version is 3.3 you may be able to upgrade to 3.6 or 3.7 if your carrier currently supports it (see item 3 below).

2. Your device must be serviced by a BlackBerry Enterprise Server with Mobile Data Service installed. [Except for Nextel 6510/7510 users (see left)]

3. If you do not have the BlackBerry Desktop software version 3.6 SP1 then you must have the BlackBerry Application Handeld files locally resident on your PC. Look for a folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\Shared. If this does not exist you must download these files from your wireless carrier. See each carrier listed below for download locations.
